Commercial Accounting Manager Job in Hemel Hempstead, Home Counties Uk

Role Purpose:

To manage team responsible for accounting for, controlling and reporting on revenue investment costs, including looking for opportunities to improve existing systems and processes and liaising with the commercial business teams.

Specific Areas of Role Accountability:

Validate, control and account accurately for revenue investment spend each period (annual budget approx £300m)

Attend profit review meetings providing top-level insight into the key issues driving revenue investment (including long term and promotional discounts and advertising spend)

Provide insight into commercial costs at Brand and Channel level

Continuously review and improve processes and reporting in MIP pack

Provide variance analysis and performance analysis by brand and channel

Drive improvements in systems and processes to increase the accuracy of the information from the system.

Liaise closely with the commercial teams towards ensuring adherence to process and accuracy of data, as well understanding of financial information.

Oversee budgeting and forecasting process for long term discounts and advertising spend

Oversee production of brand and channel information, including liaising closely with the Business Analysis team

Support IT projects and provide testing resource in accordance with pre-determined testing plans

Interact with external auditors on revenue investment issues

Undertake ad hoc duties projects

Requirements

Qualifications Required:

Degree or equivalent

Qualified Accountant - ACMA/ACCA/ACA and/or MBA

Experience Skills Required:

Several years in a management accounting finance environment.

Extensive FMCG experience.

Man management skills.

Advanced IT database user.
