About the Job

A Commercial Analyst is needed for a rapidly growing online business in Greater Manchester. This is a key post to provide commercial information to the Finance, Marketing, Sales and Operational teams through the provision of meaningful and insightful commercial analysis. Reporting to the FD your key duties will be: to define standard trading KPIs; to analyse and prepare reports highlighting any issues, performing analysis to understand trends and formulating action plans to mitigate areas of under performance; product analysis to add value to merchandising, product review and stock management; analyse the performance of current and previous ranges; to monitor and track results from price and promotion trials; to ensure the appropriate monitoring of projects by defining metrics and tracking mechanisms from the start of all projects, building tracking reports; to produce a robust sales, revenue and margin plan; integration of various reporting systems to improve the quality, speed and integrity of monthly and weekly management information; to analyse options to enhance profitability of the business and exposure to various ad-hoc projects. The successful candidate will be CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified and have a strong academic background. Ideally you will have experience of working in the retail or online business but it would also suit someone coming out of practice or Corporate Finance. It is essential to have strong analytic skills and proven track record of influencing decisions through the conclusions/recommendations you have made as a result of your analysis. You will have excellent communication skills which will enable you to communicate complex financial data to both finance and non finance colleagues and build strong internal relationships, with the ability to influence and challenge senior figures within the business.
