Industry Funds Management (IFM) invests and manages the funds of millions of underlying investors across four asset classes, globally. As one of Australia’s fastest growing investment firms, we have a proud and solid heritage. IFM is currently seeking an Associate to join the Commercial Group in its Melbourne office. The Commercial Group works in conjunction with the Investment Groups within IFM in the acquisition, sale and management of investments owned by IFM funds. The Commercial Group provides legal advice, structuring, negotiation, execution and due diligence services with respect to investment transactions. The Associate will be responsible for:
- Instructing and supervising external legal, tax and audit service providers;
- Assisting Commercial Directors within the Group to ensure that the legal position and financial interests of IFM and IFM managed products are protected and advanced in all contract, financial instruments and service agreements;
- Assisting Commercial Directors within the Group to structure and execute investment transactions;
- Assisting in the development, structuring and documentation of new products;
- Assisting in the management of the non-investment aspects of investee companies;
This position will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to interact with top level decision makers and be directly involved in the execution of substantial Australian and International transactions.
To be successful, you must have a tertiary qualification in law and have gained at least 2 years of relevant experience either in a top tier law firm or the financial services sector. Post-graduate qualifications and FINSIA/CFA qualifications are desirable.
As this role will develop a number of relationships with key stakeholders it is essential that the candidate have excellent analytical and communication skills and be highly motivated. Overseas opportunities will also be available for the right candidate.
