State Auto Insurance Company, a ninety-one-year-old, A rated (Excellent) property-casualty insurance company has an opening for experienced Business Insurance Underwriters to work in our Columbus, Ohio, office. The incumbent works with an Account Executive forming a team that develops, underwrites and services commercial business in accordance with established guidelines. The underwriter has primary responsibility for underwriting functions, but both members of the team must possess the flexibility and service orientation to do what it takes to get the job done.
Qualified applicants must possess a minimum of two years in commercial lines underwriting, or equivalent work experience in which analytical decision-making and interpersonal skills were required. A college degree or a combination of education and experience deemed an equivalent of a degree. IIA, AU65 and AU66 are desired. This position also requires excellent communication, interpersonal, organization and problem solving skills.
