Commercial Credit Analyst
Our client is well established in the banking industry and looking to hire a Commercial Credit Analyst. This bank has been in high growth mode with significant growth year over year for 5 consecutive years. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Perform independent financial statement analysis in accordance with established procedures for existing and potential borrowers.
- At a minimum, the analysis will include ratio and industry study, cash flow analysis, trend analysis and collateral evaluation.
- Provide interpretation of financial statement analysis and results of peer comparisons.
- Assist commercial lenders in loan request discussions with existing and potential borrowers.
- Analyze all types of loan documentation to detect incomplete, insufficient or questionable information and independently follow up with various parties to obtain additional information and resolve questions and issues.
- Ensure an efficient and effective transfer of knowledge from the relationship manager to the approving authorities.
- Provide value-added feedback to the approving authorities through the use of appropriate risk/mitigant analysis.
- Assist relationship manager with follow-up for covenant violations, monitoring financial statement submission maturity date renewals past due reporting, etc.
- Assist in business development activities by identifying cross-sell opportunities.
- Participate in calling activities and prepare term sheets, letters and correspondence as required.
- Will provide guidance and direction to subordinate analysts.
- Ability to project borrower's/prospect's profitability through detailed financial projections incorporating financial and non-financial issues.
- Ensure underwriting and structuring decisions reflect commitment to strong asset quality.
- Preparation of written loan presentations including sufficient data to support financial statement analysis and collateral evaluation.
- Review and monitor loan files for collateral documentation requirements to determine proper completion, ensure timely recording and compliance with bank policies and procedures, and applicable banking regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience degree in accounting, real estate or finance preferred .
- 3+ Years credit experience
- Knowledge of federal banking regulations, and of commercial lending policies, procedures, practices and techniques.
- Knowledge of credit and financial statement analysis.
- Knowledge of real estate finance, and accounting a plus.
- Previous financial evaluation experience.
- Completion of Credit Analyst Training program or equivalent
