Role Summary/Purpose
GE is looking for a Commercial Development Director to assist GE businesses in Kazakhstan in market and business development/sales, to help develop a comprehensive approach to the region and to establish strong working relationships with the private and state owned enterprises as well as with the governments. The job is located in Astana.
Essential Responsibilities
Market awareness:
conduct market analysis of the whole region- identify potential opportunities for different industries and their addressability to GE businesses
monitor the general and GE-related market trends
know and identify key players in the region (top companies, state and private decision-makers, etc.)
manage and coordinate marketing activities in the region (like marketing events, joint customer trips, GE-day and etc.)
Government relations:
have a clear picture of the political landscape, key players and their potential in the region
possess and establish relations with key decision makers in the governmental structures
develop and follow up joint initiatives of GE with the governments
Business relations:
develop contacts and drive relations with leading industrial/infrastructure companies
identify business development actions, present business opportunities to GE businesses and get their buy-in
Commercial development:
identify opportunities, determine actions and drive implementation of strategic commercial initiatives like company-to-country, company-to-company
coordinate cross-business project implementation
Qualifications/Requirements
Higher education and postgraduate degree (business/marketing/engineering degree is preferable)
At least 5 years of experience on a similar role in business development/sales and marketing in industrial spheres (within multinational companies is a plus);
Clear understanding of industrial/infrastructure market environment, key players and trends in the region
Clear understanding of specifics of business processes in a multinational company;
High level contacts in public and private sector (industrial/infrastructure) companies;
Solid business ethics;
Fluent Russian and advanced English;
Strong persuasion and leadership, presentation and communication skills, analytical thinking capability.
Successful candidate will be employed under local employment conditions and must already satisfy local employment/work permit and residency regulations.
