The company
My client is a fast growth FMCG organisation and is the market leader in its field. Following significant development of the business in Australia over the last four years, it continues to enjoy a high rate of growth and supplies many well know blue chip clients across the retail sector. The Board has a clear strategic vision for the future of the business and to enable these plans they are now looking to recruit a Commercial Financial Controller.
The role
Reporting to the CFO as Commercial Financial Controller you ensure the business meets its financial objectives. You will be responsible for managing the financial accounting team to ensure key deliverables are met, primarily period end, financial shaping processes and regular reporting to the US. You will have overall responsibility for the business financial control framework and financial leadership of the SOP process including representation on the business Activity Review Team.
- Accountable for periodic reporting process, including submission of financial results to the US and presentation of financial results to the business executive team.
- Accountable for the business planning and forecasting process, incorporating the principles of financial shaping.
- Define and develop reporting and sustainable processes for appropriate brand profitability analysis.
- Delivery of recurring reporting to US parent company within required timeframes.
- Delivery of strong governance and financial control environment.
- Co-pilot the demand side of the business (Sales and Marketing), providing support and evaluation of the activity set including trade expenditure, advertising and promotion.
- Provide financial assessment of business activities submitted through the SOP activity process.
- Drive business process improvement.
- Maintain business relationship with the Central Finance Team and External Auditor.
Your background
- Qualified CA, CPA or equivalent.
- Previous experience in management position, ideally in a dynamic FMCG environment.
- A strong commercial focus with the ability to suggest changes when necessary.
- Strong reporting background from a multi national business.
- Previous exposure to SAP and an advanced knowledge of Excel would be desirable.
