Role Summary/Purpose

This position is responsible for assisting the GE Lighting sales team during the sales cycle. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, will meet day-to-day short-term objectives in order to contribute to the achievement and / or exceeding sales targets. The position requires frequent interaction with Sales, customers, outside vendors and suppliers, and other cross-functional team members.

Essential Responsibilities

Primary job responsibilities include:

  • Play an integral part in defining the go-forward approach for sales support processes as Lighting targets growth
  • Work with customers and sales teams to identify opportunities and understand customer requirements
  • Development of value-specific presentation materials to be used by Sales team
  • Support Sales Team with proposal generation - low to medium complex projects
  • Assist Sales team in meetings and negotiations remotely
  • Work with the Sales team as back-office support
  • Provide technical support for sales team, by analyzing the better product to fit customer requirements, build configuration proposal (including sales bid)
  • Provide technical support for customers; occasionally visiting customers with local sales team
  • Prepare technical material for sales team (presentations, price list, SKU number changes)
  • Act as a liaison to the other teams and functions within the business to find and bring in appropriate resources to help as needed during the sales process
  • Support contract negotiations.
  • Capture product capability feedback and suggestions for new/improved product features and functions from customers and the sales team and provide this information to the appropriate business teams (e.g. Product Management, Marketing, etc.)
  • Work with Marketing to develop project specific sales strategies for assigned customers and products and identify recommendations for continued growth
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, customer requirements, competitor actions, customer and project base
  • Support Marketing on Sales-related initiatives

    Qualifications/Requirements

  • Student of a 3-6 grade
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good command of English
  • Ability to work 30 hours per week
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Organized, detailed oriented, able to work within deadlines
  • Ability to prepare high-quality presentations
  • Solid communication skills – both written verbal
  • Quick learner, Self-starter
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – team player
  • Ability to review commercial policies and procedures
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated, proactive work style with strong drive to achieve results to grow
  • Strong follow-up, time management, and prioritization skills
