COMMERCIAL LAWYER – TELECOMUNICATION recruitment
Our client is highly reputable MNC specialising in telecommunications with offices spanning across the globe. Our client has a strong operation in South East Asia and this role will focus on delivering legal advice across the region to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating customer and supplier agreements
- Provide legal guidance and steer the contracting and bid processes.
- Ensure Group Customer and Supplier Trading Policies are enforced.
- To advise and assist customer bids, telecom procurement and non-telecom supplier related work across SEA.
- Provide legal advice as required on ad-hoc related work such as Local Service Agreements, multi jurisdiction/ tax withholding billing queries, third party customer financing, powers of attorney, corporate guarantees etc.
- To identify commercial risks arising either from proposed deals or product development/expansion, providing appropriate solutions/alternatives.
- To drive the standardisation of existing terms and conditions. To support the implementation of self-service led automated contracting tools for non-complex, low value work.
- To negotiate and conclude business transactions on behalf of the company on terms that are acceptable to the business.
- To anticipate legal developments relevant to the business, and provide advice on their impact.
- To support on-going initiatives (regional and global) to implement operational efficiencies and cost savings.
Requirements
- Ideally 5 – 7 years of post-qualification experience in both private practice and/or in-house environments.
- Experience in handling a broad range of commercial issues independently at advanced levels
- Experienced in regular contract negotiations ?and the delivery of complicated outsourcing contracts.
- Experience of working in a telecom regulated environment highly desirable.
- Experience of supporting the delivery of IT Services desirable.
- Qualified lawyer or equivalent, with a recognised professional qualification. Preferably Singapore qualified but this is not essential for the right candidate.
