We currently have an opening for the following position:

GENERAL SUMMARY

Under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures, is responsible to prepare, analyze and assess credit quality of new and existing commercial loans. Provides operational and administrative support to the Commercial Loan Officers in the originating, underwriting, and closing of commercial loans. Maintains appropriate databases for accurate reporting and follow-ups. Reviews post-closing documents to ensure completeness and compliance with procedures. Tracks annual reviews and ensures appropriate documents are updated. Responds to questions and/or provides information upon request from members/customers (internal external). Processes requests/transactions, as appropriate. Assists members and potential members in understanding utilizing Credit Union products services.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (in descending order of importance)


1. Develops credit information for use by Commercial/Business Banking Officers needed in making commercial lending decisions on new, renewal and extension loans. Reviews all pertinent credit and financial information, including reporting services, credit bureaus, terror watch lists, savings and loan associations or banks, and bank files. Determines the need for more thorough investigation or additional information, and contacts appropriate sources for such information. Prepares spread sheet and financial information. Analyzes financial statements and related material. Research company history and industry. Prepares summary analysis, presents facts, and offers opinions concerning credit worthiness to Commercial/Business Banking Officers.

2. Tracks and follows up on loan proposals and gathers all information relevant for the consideration of a new, or increased, relationship with a prospect or member, including but not limited to analyzing financial statements, tax returns, business plans, etc. Assists commercial loan officers with completing loan packages and following up on outstanding items/ conditions. Prepares member business loan request forms, term sheets and commitment letters as required. Orders and reviews appraisals, environmental reports and title rundowns. Prepares document request letters for financial statements, insurance binders, etc.

3. Reviews and maintains post-closing report and resolves outstanding items.

4. Enters new loans on the loan servicing system, maintains appropriate databases and provides timely reporting to management. Responsible for loan servicing to maintain accurate transactions and account postings, which include the twice daily processing on the loan servicing system.

5. Monitors the performance of loans. Assists loan officers where necessary to maintain the loan portfolio in current status. May prepare and execute proper collection actions upon request from the Commercial Lending Officers.

6. Reviews loan files annually to verify insurance, UCC filings, and other documents as deemed necessary to ensure collateral is secure where applicable. May request information missing or additional information as directed.

7. Assists in the execution of the Commercial Lending Market Plan as directed.

8. Utilizes tact and experienced-based knowledge to resolve customer/member (internal and external) problems, explaining specific policies and products while representing the Credit Union in a professional manner and maintaining positive customer relations.

9. Performs other credit analysis, commercial loan support, member/customer relations and administrative related duties as assigned by VP/Commercial Lending.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Education
BA/BS or Associate’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing or related field required.

Experience/Skills/Knowledge:
1. Minimum 2 years previous experience in a commercial lending/loan support function. Previous commercial credit training required.

2. Demonstrated knowledge of commercial lending policies, procedures, regulations and legislation.

3. Experience with FormWrx and Loan Manager Software a plus.

4. Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills.

5. Must possess excellent organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills. Attention to detail a must.

6. Ability to handle simultaneously, multiple tasks and changing priorities and produce the desired results.

7. Must possess a strong service orientation and willingness to assist members.

8. PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the Internet.

9. Ability to function in a financial institution branch environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: fax, copier, telephone, etc. Travel required.

10. Ability to lift a minimum 25 lbs. i.e. file boxes
