Commercial Management Trainee
Cargill
Commercial Management Trainee - Trading
For the department responsible for trading cocoa beans, and selling the semi finished products, we are looking for a Commercial Management Trainee (CMT).
As a CMT on the cocoa trading desk you will become part of a young, ambitious team of dedicated people with diverse backgrounds. Being a CMT within Cargill means you will have a real job from the start, with real responsibilities. You will likely start being responsible for buying certain origins of cocoa beans for our processing plants. On a daily basis you will be talking directly to suppliers of cocoa beans, and traders in the international market. You will be managing price risk in volatile markets through cocoa futures exchanges in London and New York. On the cocoa trading desk there is an intense coordination and cooperation between those who trade cocoa beans and those who communicate to customers. We will train you on the job. You will be exposed to an international environment where you interact between origin countries in Africa or Asia, and the haute finance in New York and London. It is an environment where you need to think and act quickly as a lot is at stake.
As a CMT you are part of the European Graduate Program, a two-year development program that offers a unique job learning experience plus personal development through mentorship and soft skill trainings.
The location of the cocoa trading desk is currently in Wormer, The Netherlands, only 20 minutes north of Amsterdam. As of early 2013 the office will move to the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Amsterdam is one of the best cities in Europe to live with a vibrant city center, full with bars, restaurants, shops, parks, museums, and a young and highly educated population.
What we are looking for
We are looking for curious people, with an appetite for risk, with an entrepreneurial spirit. Of course you need to be a team player, but you need to be an authentic thinker and dare to go against the stream. The atmosphere on the desk is open, honest and direct. You need to be able to cope with the pressure of international business and commodities trade. If you succeed a world of opportunities will open for you within Cargill. You can develop into a specialist trader or merchandiser, move to sales and marketing, develop into a leadership role, and move abroad.
