Commercial Projects & Analysis Manager
Qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA Commercial Projects Analysis Manager within the Senior Finance team. Working within the large finance function at the Cobham site you will be heavily involved in providing commercial and financial leadership to ACS in the delivery of their strategic objectives. This diverse role involves strategic projects, new initiatives, capital improvements projects as well as day-to-day business requirements.
Principal accountabilities
· Long-term forecasts (including differing scenarios and sensitivities) to evaluate potential new School operations (overseas and in UK) as well as providing the 5-year financial input to strategic planning process.
· Carrying out financial appraisals for relevant/significant potential Capex /investment and operational change/strategic initiative projects including reviewing all major Capex request forms prior to approval by the Head of Finance.
· Supporting the Schools and other functions with ad hoc analysis relating to their operating model (ratio analysis, benchmarking) or anything else with a financial impact, including proposed changes to operations, service offering, grades and sections.
· Analysis of commercial opportunities, property issues and general asset utilisation.
· Leading the provision of all operating model analysis, benchmarking and improvement including; staffing, class sizes, capacity utilisation, competitor analysis, profitability, process efficiency, procurement.
To be successful within this role and in addition to demonstrable post-qualified experience (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) and strong academics you will ideally have worked within a medium – large sized organisation. Experience of commercial analysis is essential including a proven knowledge of putting together complex financial models using a strong level of Excel.
A proactive approach with the aptitude to think strategically is important as well as a commercial outlook. An ability to lead and mentor staff is key to developing the wider business.
Good analytical, literacy and numeracy skills are important, as are your presentation skills and ability to communicate with the wider business.
