Opportunity
ABN AMRO Clearing is a third party clearer and a member of all major exchanges around the globe. As a third party clearer, ABN AMRO Clearing focuses on clearing transactions of its clients only. Clients can either be exchange members themselves or execute on the basis of the ABN AMRO Clearing memberships.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the Commercial department effectively assists ABN AMRO Clearing to continuously expand its products and services portfolio, its markets and its markets shares and to enhance competitiveness of the global, regional and local organization and companies.
Key Responsibilities
Your core activities will include;
- Supervisory responsibility for Commercial Support ensuring procedures and checklists are followed and sufficient staffing cover to meet business requirements
- Coaches and develops the team, as such that the full talent potential is being utilised. In conjunction with the European Head of Commercial Support, manages the performance management and development cycle with employees and provides them with feedback/forward information on individual performances, including appraisals.
- Works in conjunction with both Relationship and Sales Managers for the timely opening of new accounts for both Corporate Clients and Traders. Provides Relationship, Sales and Account Managers with information regarding the on and off-boarding of clients, and performed activities enabling them to provide optimal service towards the clients
- Receives applications for opening new and closing accounts, checks and completes the required customer information so that all required formal AAC conditions for are met. Generates data with customers and internal departments that provide input and extracts information form available systems. Processes relevant customer data and documentation in the appropriate systems, and monitors the turnaround time of applications and validity of data so that decisions are made on the basis of correct information and the timeliness of this is promoted
- Trader registration and deregistration across all major European, and US exchanges
- Maintenance of all Client, exchange and trader related information within the Client Database (Salesforce)
- Maintenance of all Client, exchange and trader related documentation within the Commercial area to ensure all documentation is available electronically in a timely manner
- Assists in the escalation and resolution of client queries on a day to day basis.
- FCA other regulatory registrations (Where applicable).
- Analyse and identify existing systemic and process problems, making recommendations for their resolution.
- Maintain and manage good communication lines with other internal departments, including, Operations, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Treasury as well as other Global Commercial teams within AAC.
- Oversees and prepares all client, exchange and regulatory documentation in accordance with relevant internal and external guidelines.
- Establishes in consultation with European Head of Commercial Support, commercial developments /issues within the area
- Assist in the production of key Management Information for internal and external audiences. Collects, analyses and interprets desk specific information regarding clients and both on-boarding and off-boarding. Realises management reports taking into account the relevant information, agreed reporting parameters, internal procedures and the appropriate time lines.
- Client reviews - Assesses, in line with AAC client review policy and procedures, the reliability and robustness of customers (commercial behaviour, integrity, business plans, changes in the organization and occupation etc.). Recognises that the behaviour of customers is in accordance with the AAC procedures relating to risk, compliance and credit. Takes appropriate action when necessary.
- Training staff on systems and procedures.
- Maintenance of departmental procedures and working instructions. Monitors the effect and efficiency of administrative and operational processes. Describes procedures and instructions within the possibilities of (compliance) regulations. Informs relevant stakeholders about the possibilities and changes within Commercial Support.
- Providing input for process streamlining within the Commercial area.
- Attend client meetings (Where required).
Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of the regional financial markets and of the administrative, legal and operational requirements
- Servicing trading companies clearing financial assets classes (i.e. Derivatives, Securities, Fixed Income)
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft applications
- Numeracy, speed and attention to detail
- Customer service skills.
- Influencing skills to encourage co-operation from other departments
- Day to day supervision of staff and responsibility for all performance management activities.
