Due to expansion, a well respected UK insurance company is currently seeking proven and motivated Commercial Underwriters to handle existing business as part of their busy Hertfordshire team.
Following a successful 2010, the book of business and GWP for the region is growing, therefore team expansion is required. The Commercial Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting a broad range of existing commercial risks predominantly focusing on Property, Liability, Commercial Combined, Motor Fleet and Trade. The successful candidate will manage a £1M renewal book and will have the authority to make day to day recommendations regarding the renewal, rating and wording of insurance risks; explaining the outcome to business customers. Building relationships with brokers will form a key part of the role.
For your application to be considered, you must have a proven background in underwriting existing commercial risks and sound technical knowledge of a range of commercial classes. Candidates will also be considered who have a mixture of broking and underwriting experience.
