POSITION OVERVIEW:
The role of Business and Commercial Operations is to optimize the network and related services utilized in the delivery of Thomson Reuters information products. This position is responsible for managing the cost, quality and time to market of the Network services utilized in Asia by proactively managing the overall relationship with third-party providers including service, delivery, contract negotiation, billing, and projects. This position will represent and update the client facing organization in the management of these service providers and address any escalations or requirements of the
internal organizations.
ESSENTIAL DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Commercial Manager has overall responsibility and ownership for a dynamic set of third party facility and network suppliers, of which key activities include:
• Identification and introduction of new network suppliers.
• To ensure that the Next Generation Network is in place for the Elektron rollout.
• To provide the focal point for all regular PTT monthly and quarterly management meetings involving the service, delivery, engineering, contract, and finance departments.
• To provide the focal point for all internal customers of the Netcomms group and schedule regular meetings to address and report on the regional delivery and support issues.
• Overall introduction of new business-critical network services.
• Establishing and enhancing supplier's contractual commitments regarding service levels and service delivery.
• Managing Requests for Proposals/ Requests for Information processes.
• Supplier and services evaluation and recommendations.
• Negotiation of large datacoms service contracts and distribution agreements.
• Price book setting and extending.
• Management and resolution of commercial issues and disputes.
• Contract renewal ensuring improved commercials for Thomson Reuters.

Necessary industry Experience associated 5 years of experience:
• Articulate
• Strong negotiator
• Numerate
• Analytical
• Contract experience
• Commercial management experience in technical sector, ideally in telecoms
Specific technology areas that are relevant to the position include:
Any broad understanding of the below technologies would be beneficial:
• Satellite, MPLS/Frame Relay/ATM WAN, Managed ISP, Metro Ethernet, Private Fibre, Multicast, Direct Feeds , Collocation and Managed Hosting.
• Financial Services sector experience beneficial
