Commissioning Engineer / Service Engineer
My client specialises in the design and supply of process systems for the oil and gas industry.
Systems supplied include those for crude oil and produced water treatment, water injection, gas dehydration and hydrogen generation and purification.
They are seeking a direct and “hands on” Commissioning Engineer / Service Engineer to provide specialist on site services worldwide. This will include installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, servicing and operational support in both onshore and offshore environments.

- Up to £45k depending on experience

THE CANDIDATE
Commissioning Engineer/ Service Engineer
Experience/Background:
- Preferably at least 3 years experience in a multi skilled, field based Commissioning Engineer or Service Engineer role in either a process plant or manufacturing industry
- Experience working overseas or in an offshore environment
- Process Engineering experience an advantage
- Strong background in either electrical, instrumentation, mechanical or process engineering
- Experience with PLC control systems beneficial
- Must be medically fit and healthy to meet the required standards for working in offshore environments

Qualifications:
- Minimum of good CSE, O Level or GCSE results in 5 subjects, must include English and Maths with some Further Education in a technical field
- A relevant technical degree would be an advantage
THE ROLE
Commissioning Engineer / Service Engineer
Main Duties:
- The multi skilled installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of the clients bespoke process plant and all associated proprietary equipment such as control systems, instruments, valves and pumps etc at various sites.
- The multi skilled servicing, maintenance, optimisation and operation of the subcontractors bespoke process plant and all associated proprietary equipment such as control systems, instruments, valves and pumps etc at various sites
- The ability to supervise and manage other personnel and disciplines whether supplied by the client or a sub contractor.
- The ability and willingness to undertake ‘hands on’ work whenever necessary.
- Compilation of detailed formal site reports and other documentation to support our activities including office administration forms such as timesheets, expenses, risk assessments etc.
- Liaise with all relevant parties and assume the role of an ambassador for the client and identify commercial opportunities whenever appropriate.
- Undertake both formal ‘classroom’ and ‘hands on’ training to our client’s personnel and prepare appropriate training documentation whenever required.
- When necessary and practical provide support to clients by fax/e-mail or telephone.
- When necessary and practical provide support to colleagues in relation to general project work etc.
- Be aware and take account of commercial and contractual issues in relation to project timescales and budgets etc.
- Operate at all times within the guidelines of the company’s and clients procedures regarding quality, health, safety and environmental issues.
- In conjunction with the Aftermarket Manager record and maintain personal offshore survival, medical and safety certification.
- In conjunction with the Aftermarket Manager ensure that all travel inoculations and malaria protection etc, is in place and maintained as necessary.
- Undertake office based activities as necessary, including but not limited to preparation of OM manuals, commercial proposals and technical advice to clients and colleagues.
