THE ROLE:
The role's main focus is Commission Accounting and you will largely be responsible for the management of all aspects of collating the financial information related to the payment of commissions as well as providing financial reporting and analysis for various projects within the business.
Within 6-12 months you will eventually move in to a Commercial Analyst position with increasing focus on revenue stream analysis and sales strategy.
Reporting in to the Financial Planning Analysis Manager initially, your duties will be:
- Plan for the distribution of commissions to ensure timely and accurate payment to employees in accordance with remuneration policies
- Prepare regular financial and statistical reports on sales and commissions paid to ensure current structure can be updated as required
- Maintain the commissions model to ensure that commission calculation is accurate and effective in motivating employees
- Make recommendations about adjustments to the commissions model that may be necessary to maintain its profitability
- Analyse and correct errors in commission payments in a timely fashion
- Deliver results on time in order to ensure the smooth operation of the commission process
- Complete any other ad hoc administration and analytical tasks as directed by Management
LOOKING FOR:
- Degree in Finance, Business or Commerce and CA/CPA/CIMA qualification highly regarded
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Commissions Accounting capacity within an established commercial blue chip business
- Expertise in manipulation and analysis of large quantities of financial information and spreadsheet models in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables etc.)
- Proactive approach to understanding application and outcomes of commission models and implications of changes
- Ability to work autonomously and part of a team
- Commercial acumen and business/systems process improvement capabilities
- Desire to work in a dynamic, progressive and fun work environment
