Commodities Analyst recruitment
A leading Investment Bank is looking to hire a Commodities Analyst to join their successful Commodities Middle Office function.
The role on offer involves developing a deep understanding of the pricing and risk infrastructure used within commodities, across flow and exotics, and utilising this understanding to perform and develop critical controls within the business.
The successful candidate would be responsible for:
- Providing expert systems knowledge to investigate and remediate issues with commodities EOD PV and risk batches, ensuring that accurate PV and risk was provided to both Trading and Product Control.
- Setup of new assets and instruments within trading systems, working under pressure to support a dynamic trading environment.
- Performing key controls over market data.
- Performing key controls over static data critical to valuation systems.
The successful candidate will have a minimum 2.1 class degree in a highly numerate science or engineering degree. Prior experience in commodities, or in a middle office role, would be beneficial but not essential.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to be highly proactive, with the excellent problem solving skills and execution focus needed to thrive in a fast moving front office facing role.
The role requires balancing the importance of facilitating trading activities with the necessity of maintaining a robust control environment. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the positive attitude and strong communication skills needed to provide this balance.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen interest in understanding a complex and challenging systems infrastructure and in critically analysing this infrastructure to understand the critical controls required. Previous experience at working with an understanding complex technology systems will be highly beneficial.
