Commodities Compliance Advisory recruitment

This is a senior role within a newly established and growing compliance team, with excellent progression prospects.

This role will be challenging and diverse and the successful applicant will be expected to:

• Provide timely and independent advice on all aspects of regulatory compliance including in relation to; market abuse, anti-bribery, anti-money laundering and FSA regulatory obligations.

• Take operational responsibility for key business lines, provide advice and guidance, undertake themed reviews and provide support as required to deliver a first class compliance service.

• Work with Front Office colleagues to implement systems of work and processes to ensure effective compliance with regulatory obligations.

• Act as the focal point for overseas subsidiaries providing advice and support as required to deliver effective compliance.

• Take lead responsibility for compliance training, ensuring high quality training is professionally delivered across the business and its subsidiaries

• Maintain awareness, lobbying, as appropriate, and reporting on regulatory developments e.g. MiFID, FSA, MAD, REMIT, EMIR.

• Develop excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a compelling advocate for Compliance.

Experience:

Candidates must have experience in the energy trading sector with a thorough understanding of the associated energy products and their derivatives.

In depth understanding of  FSA regulation and Experience assessing compliance risk and providing advice in wholesale trading environment, ideally in an international context

A strong knowledge of European regulatory developments would also be advantageous.
