Commodities Portfolio Research Quant
JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the Commodities Investment Researcher is to maximize the investment strategies covering cross commodities including power, gas, oil, power, metals, mining within a front office team. This is a highly technical quantitative portfolio research team who need a very specialist seasoned commodities quant to specialize on researching commodities investment strategies working alongside senior PMs.
Location: New York, USA.
The role:
- Research new and existing commodities portfolio investment strategies, models and data sets.
- Analyze research fresh commodities investment data across power, gas, oil, energy etc.
- Work with Portfolio mangers (PMs) to maximize existing commodities investment strategies.
- Carry out both statistical and econometric driven research to maximize traded returns.
- Generating new research ideas involved within commodities portfolios in seeking maximize performance.
Requirements:
- A proven track record covering portfolio research or/and quantitative analysis either at a financial firm or in a more finance related trading role at a top commodities firm.
- PhD in a quantitative discipline from a leading school and with a strong GPA.
- Ideally have a proven track record of research work i.e. white papers or publications.
- Have a problem solving mentality as well as strong analytical intuition.
- Able to communicate and interact with the business effectively.
