Providing analysis and market intelligence across key industry sectors, Macquarie Research has one of the largest research teams in the Asia-Pacific region and has a significant presence in North America, the UK and South Africa. With the expansion of our commodity service offering, Macquarie is seeking to hire an experienced analyst to lead fundamental research of Base Metals markets within the top ranked Macquarie Commodities Research team. Your role will involve analysing LME base metal market dynamics and providing market intelligence and price forecasts for distribution to both internal and external clients. The role is strongly client focused and will allow you to draw on your outstanding client relationship skills and commercial, creative approach to market perspectives.
In this role, you will, working closely with the rest of the commodity research team:
- Be ultimately responsible for Macquarie's short and long term views across base metal markets
- Assist with forecasting and reporting the underlying drivers and future trends across the Metals and Bulk Commodities industry
- Have ownership of models to determine supply-demand dynamics across metals markets
- Be involved in intense data analysis as well as reviewing and writing market commentary
- Liaise with research and sales teams globally
- Deliver your findings to internal and external clients
- Represent Macquarie at network and other industry related forums
To be successful, you will have:
- An established track record in commodity research
- Be considered an expert in your field
- Have a strong client focus, and be able to establish credible business partnerships at all levels
- Bring outstanding analysis, modelling and research skills
- Continually seek to better your knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas succinctly
- Significant experience in macroeconomic and base metals analysis
