Commodities Research Analyst – Top Tier Hedge Fund
A newly set up hedge fund, ran by a self - established Fundamental Commodities Strategist is looking to build their analyst desks to support the buyside trading platforms.
The fund is currently trading at a conservative USD 100 Million focusing on both Industrial and Soft Commodities products. However, the current set - up is composed of very astute and proven investors with previous solid track record in the region and are looking to bump up their team with very hungry, aggressive analysts to generate some of their trade / investment ideas.
The current firm applies a fundamental approach to investing - looking at value oriented opportunities and currently a lean set - up with a porfolio strategist, 3 traders / portfolio managers and no analysts.
My ideal candidate for the Commodities Research Analyst would primarily be:
- 4-6 years experience in a research analyst role - covering either Equities, Fixed Income or Commodities with a knack for capturing trends and generating profitable investment ideas.
- A Bachelor's Degree from a reputable university - also kindly highlight your GPA or grade accumulation
- A very sound investment process with fully equipped technical skill in valuation, financial modelling and report writing.
- Since the network and client is primarily Singapore based, persons based locally may be a more sensible hire at this point. However, still open for candidates within other Asia Pacific countries.
- A strong history of generating profitable investment trades ideas
The Commodities Research Analyst will assist both portfolio managers and the strategist in dahy - to - day activities. The right candidate would be someone with a passion for the markets, in research and a long term career in hedge funds.
