Providing analysis and market intelligence across key industry sectors, Macquarie Research has one of the largest research teams in the Asia pacific region and has a significant presence in North America, the UK and South Africa. With expansion of our economic capabilities in the US, an opportunity now exists for a Research Associate to work with our Global Oil Economist.
In this role, you will:
- assist with forecasting and reporting the underlying drivers and future trends across the oil and natural gas industry
- provide industry and company analysis, financial modeling, and database support to the Senior Analyst
- be involved in intense data analysis as well as reviewing and writing commentary
- be involved in broader industry and corporate events and liaise with research and sales teams globally.
- deliver your findings to internal clients and more broadly to sector professionals
- represent Macquarie at network and other industry related forums
To be successful, you will have:
- a minimum of 4 years experience as an Equity or Commodity Research Associate in an oil related sector; or experience in a role requiring macroeconomic or oil industry analysis and valuation
- a bachelor's degree (minimum) in a finance, accounting, economics or related discipline
- exceptional financial analysis and modeling skills, a strong understanding of valuation techniques is required
- a passion for wanting to develop a career in macroeconomic research
- excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas succinctly
- initiative to help build a quality product and be willing to work the hours to achieve your goals
- NASD Series 7, 63 and 86/87 qualifications (or be willing to obtain these)
