Commodities Risk Analyst – Global Energy Major – London recruitment
In conjunction to our clients growth in cross commodity trading, we are looking for an experienced Commodities Risk professional to risk manage our clients European Commodities Trading and Operations business.
My client is looking for a senior risk analyst with proven experience within the Oil, Power, and Gas Markets to join their Risk Management division. You will be responsible for periodic exposure valuation, PL analysis, mandate monitoring etc and will assist in the validation of risk assessments for cross commodity commercial projects with a focus on the continental Natural Gas market. This is a highly influential position, and demonstrating your expertise, you will advise on potential risk factors when entering new business and new business areas. You will have direct involvement with Trading and Commercial units and assist in the valuation of complex strategy proposals.
This is a fantastic opportunity for career progression within this Global Energy Major and your area of responsibility will continue to develop as new systems are implemented. You must be familiar with mark to market, PL analysis, VaR methodologies to be considered for this role. The following skills are also mandatory:
Masters degree in a numerate subject
Deep understanding Risk Management within the Commodities market
Proven analytical ability and advanced Excel VBA modelling skills
VaR modelling
