Department Overview
Our global distribution team is a key client interface dedicated to solving the problems and servicing the needs of our institutional and corporate clients. The team provides a highly focused, around the clock service, ranging from specialist coverage on equities, emerging markets, fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities, financial futures and derivatives to generalist, multi-product sales coverage across Barclays Capital's product base.
Our success is driven through forming deep relationships with our clients, allowing us to understand their specific problems. We become their strategic partner with an ongoing dialogue through trusted relationships with senior decision makers. - Junior Commodities Salesperson - located in Calgary, Canada
Job Duties
- Listens to clients to better understand their needs and objectives, in order to respond and provide solutions
- Demonstrates an understanding of commodities asset class and markets
- Provide backup to senior sales people and help execute transactions with clients
- Work with senior salesperson to pitch for new business
- Explanation of new products to clients
- Attend internal and client meetings to learn about and participate in new deals.
- Work with trading to understand and communicate pricing
- Understand and research industry trends to add value to the dialogue with clients.
- Assist with negotiation of client documentation, working closely with legal, credit and transaction management
- Create Microsoft PowerPoint presentations for both external client pitches and internal pitches
