Société Générale Corporate Investment Banking is looking for an Intern for its London based European Commodity Corporate Structuring team. Integrated in the commodity derivatives department, the Corporate Structuring team’s mission is to build tailor-made solutions for corporate clients in the commodity sector leveraging on the full range of the bank’s capabilities.
Main responsibilities
Financial / Risk analysis
* Provide numerical analyses to support the origination of structured business including modelling clients' commodity exposures and evaluation of proxy hedge proposals;
* Participate to the risk process associated with a transaction, including risk analysis, credit requests and follow-up.
Marketing
* Provide general support to senior structurers including market and peer group analyses, preparation of pricing tools and presentation materials, preparation of reports or support materials as necessary;
Technical / pricing
* Contributing to the modelling of financial structures as well preparing pricing indications for clients;
* Prepare correlation studies;
* Carry out financial sensitivity tests on financial models.
Legal / operations
* Support senior structurers in the execution process including collaboration with middle office, legal and compliance teams.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education
* Graduate from a top tier university, preferably with a background in financial mathematics;
Past experience
* Some experience in a financial institution preferred
Languages
* Required: fluency in English
* Optional: additional European languages
Technical skills
* Prior experience in a bank or in the commodity sector would be considered a benefit.
* Personal qualities: hard-working, able to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative, strong organisational skills, intellectual curiosity and common sense.
