Commodities Trader
Our client, a global trading house which prides itself on its achievements and growth over the past 10 years is looking for a talented, motivated individual to take the reigns on an exciting new project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the set up of a physical commodities trading function, with a focus on the systematic trading of oil or precious metals
- Generation of trading strategies from concept to implementation, working closely with Developers to build and refine systems
- Internal systems design where necessary in relation to strategy execution, risk management and back-testing frameworks, leveraging off the existing commodities infrastructure within the organisation
- Overall responsibility for P + L generation
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years Commodities trading experience –specifically systematic trading of oil or precious metals (including Gold, Silver and Platinum contracts) across European markets; or arbitrage of oil or precious metals contracts between European and non-European based contracts
- Substantial practical experience in designing a Commodities trading, execution and deal management framework
- Considerable practical experience in back testing and databases
- Significant practical experience in designing and developing systematic, low risk Commodities statistical arbitrage trading strategies.
- Excellent understanding of available contracts and mechanisms for realization of the strategy including listed, and OTC or swap based contracts.
- Experience developing market proven trading strategies
- Quantitative finance background preferred
