Commodity Credit Risk Manager, (Mathematical Modelling and Credit Risk Analysis)
Principal Accountabilities:
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers:
Interact with external and internal worldwide customers including counterparties, trading, legal, contracts to manage the credit risk of a designated portfolio across coal and petroleum
· Support the Credit team with model development and maintenance – Credit modelling
· Assist in the development and implementation of methods and processes for the modelling of CVaR, stressed exposures, EFE / PFE models…) etc
· Develop risk portfolio management models and implementing them in our Credit systems
Building various other analytics tools for the desk and automating current ones
· Negotiate structured transactions and credit terms to mitigate risk whilst providing effective credit solutions
· Provide guidance and support to highly complex deal structures
· Identify and tracking high risk/watch list accounts. This requires rigorous analysis and the communication of customer financial positions, sector risk and commodity values underlying the transaction
· Work closely with the credit analysis team and the Credit Risk Regional leaders to apply sound credit decisions and structures to avoid potential losses
· Relationship Management, Decision Making Problem Solving as it relates to managing the portfolio’s credit risk on new and existing counterparties by:
o Underwriting assigned portfolio, financial statement analysis, making recommendations on limits exceeding authority or within individual signing authority
Qualifications / Experience
· Bachelors Degree in mathematical subject Business/Economics/Financial/Accounting or equivalent
· Proven commercial credit analysis / financial statement analysis / an industry sector analysis / a financial institution determining counterparty credit risk and setting credit limits within the trading/capital markets
· Experience in Credit Risk modelling and structured physical trades, trade finance, physical trade operations
· Good understanding of credit concepts such as Cvar, EFE, PFE… and experience of a successful implementation of credit models
· Strong credit knowledge across a variety of commodity business areas including: primarily petroleum, coal; and secondarily, energy, transportation, metals, shipping, resources
· Strong knowledge of Letters of Credits, SBLCs, Guarantees, Indemnities, collateral the associated documentation industry practice
· Comprehensive understanding of micro macro country risk
· Exposure to experience with global markets
· knowledge of the key business drivers for the different commodities and how they connect across the financial markets
· Knowledge of operational flows from the pre-trade stage to transaction settlement together with key risk areas
· Excellent written and spoken English

• MBA or CFA
