Commodity Finance- Netherlands recruitment
My client, a top European investment bank, are looking to make the urgent hire of a senior relationship manager to join their market-leading Commodity Trade Finance platform in Amsterdam, Europe. This is a replacement hire with my client keen to move forward ASAP.
The role:
• Working alongside the product specialists and other senior RMs, you will have responsibility for managing relationships within the team’s existing portfolio of clients and originating new trade commodity finance business, particularly in the MENA region as well as Africa.
• Given the focus of the team, applicants should have considerable experience in the coffee, cocoa, cotton and dairy space as you will be handling relationships with the producers of these products.
• You will have full responsibility for a portfolio of key client accounts, taking charge of strategic discussions with the client and handling the credit chain/credit committees (though much of the ground work will be handled by your junior account managers).
• Required to coach more junior members of the team, so candidates should have strong leadership abilities.
Requirements:
• Must have significant commodity trade finance relationship management experience from either ideally another investment bank or trading house.
• Due to the coverage of this position, candidates with local financing experience in Africa/ MENA experience are desirable, but European trade financiers with soft commodities experience will also be considered.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential. French language skills are highly desirable.
• This role is to be based in Amsterdam.
