Commodity Trade Finance Lawyer recruitment
This team provides legal advice and support to front-units of the Bank’s business divisions Retail Corporate and Wealth Management with respect to tailor-made financings and transactions booked in Switzerland.
The team, as a whole, not only advises and supports the bank’s corporate banking units but also its structured credit wealth management and its trade finance units. It not only deals with internal partners but also directly with clients or external lawyers when negotiating the contractual arrangements that often comprise cross-border and complex security aspects.
Main responsibilities
The position is comparable to a transactions lawyer in a law firm and requires:
- Ability to address complex situations in contractual arrangements;
- Responsibility for commodity trade finance matters, in particular, the coverage of commodity trade finance desks.
Profile
- Bar admission (preferably Swiss);
- Law degree with strong academic background;
- Knowledge of financial services and products;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a legal profession with experience in trade finance and transactional work or similar professional exposure;
- Several years’ experience with the common law system (e.g. LL.M. and professional experience in an international environment);
- Strong analytical skills, quick to grasp and ability to negotiate complex documents and to accommodate the parties' wishes and needs therein without losing sight of the Bank’s interests;
- Strong communication skills together with a concise and precise drafting style;
- Ability to work and take decisions under pressure in a fast paced environment whilst maintaining a high level of diligence;
- Great team spirit;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
