Commodity Trade Finance Officer- Singapore Based- Top Commodity Firm
My client is one of the largest commodity firm in Singapore who is looking to add a headcount to their trade finance desk in Singapore with focus on either Metals or LPG products. This is an excellent opportunity for an experience commodity trade financier to join a well-established commodity trading firm with a strong foothold globally.
Job Specifications:
Work with the Trading and Operations desks to ensure timely securitisation of financing/risk underwriting
Liasing with the banks in financing transactions and ensure the deals are followed through.
Letters of Credit (LCs) and Bid/Performance Bonds issuance, confirmation and checking discount rates with banks.
Check the workability of Export LCs and conduct changes if requried.
Act as a relationship person within the firm in maintaining strong relationships with banks and other financial institutions including negotiation of bi-lateral facilities.
Ensure financial security for each shipment is in good order before giving the approval to load/discharge to the Operations team
Raising Invoices and documents plus negotiation/discounting of same with banks (and counterparties) for payment
Ensure the proper drafting/countering of financial documentation
Other admin ad-hoc duties when required.
Person Specifications:
• Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin. Mandarin speaking is necessary as part of thr role requires communications with Chinese-counter parties.
• Experience of flows that involves metals or LPG/LNG is necessary.
• At least 3 to 8 years of commodity trade finance/trade finance operations of working at an international bank /commodity firm dealing with Letters of Credit.
• Meticulous and good personality.
