Full time, based in Basingstoke
Our client is a leading provider of testing, approval and consultancy services to the global technology market.
They cover a wide range of technologies including Cellular, Wireless and Smart Card technologies, with particular emphasis on convergent products (i.e. those that combine multiple technologies). They have been at the forefront of new developments for a number of years now, and continue to be in the mobile payments arena. Their experience in wireless communications, payment functionalities and security means they are uniquely positioned to help bring the worlds of payments and mobile devices together for the future.
They offer a one-stop-shop for product testing and approvals, from testing to project management and consultative support. They also offer subcontract support for companies who may need some technical assistance to take a product from the final stages of RD to a market launch.
Role and Scope
Common Criteria is being added to our client’s expanding services in Security and Payments. An evaluator is needed to undertake Common Criteria work from initial engagement with the customer to final report creation and submission. Initially covering terminal and card products, the service will expand to respond to the Common Criteria security needs of many types of customer products. The role will require you to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability whilst maintaining focus on technical detail and formal process. Responsibilities
Technically lead Common Criteria projects
Prepare and advise on Common Criteria documentation
Audit and evaluate customers’ security products to Common Criteria standards
Produce Common Criteria reports to be approved by CESG
Share Common Criteria knowledge with team members
To undertake ad hoc tasks as may be required.
Skills required:
Ability to understand the hardware and software architecture of a product and how it is designed to meet requirements.
Can demonstrate an adaptable approach to meeting rules, regulations and standards based on knowledge gained about a product design.
Motivated to read and become fully conversant with formal documentation including methods, standards and regulations.
Demonstrates knowledge of low-level programming eg: VHDL code, DSP code, Firmware, etc
Can show understanding of complex chip design.
Assimilate and recapitulate large amounts of data
Able to write clear and concise reports
Perform and document tests to ensure repeatability
Fluent English
Essential requirements:
University graduate of a Computer Science or related discipline (communications, security, electronics, etc)
Able to self direct own work
Work as part of a team (as need to share findings with other evaluators as they may affect work being done by others)
Use of word processor, spreadsheet, presentation and Email applications.
Some advanced use of spreadsheets for analysis.
Can demonstrate knowledge of software stacks in practical product solutions.
Min 2 years: of working in at least one of the following environments: IT design, communications, security, electronics.
