Job Description:
The Michigan Offices of URS are actively seeking a creative, highly talented Communication/ITS for immediate employment in the Southfield, MI office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in communications system design specific to transportation, facilities, and/or industrial settings. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including outside plant infrastructure (wireless and fiber optic), facilities cabling and wireless infrastructure, as well as voice, data, video, and security systems design.Incumbent Responsibilities: Mentoring with URS Communications staff Collaboration with other design disciplines during the design process Under guidance of senior communications staff, participate in the design of communications networks and infrastructure Research alternative design approaches and evaluate feasibility Design of intelligent transportation system (ITS) networks Field visits for investigation of existing conditions and construction progress Participation in client meetings to develop requirements, present alternatives, and review design progress Current and expected clients will include: Various state Departments of Transportation (DOT) or Provincial Ministries of Transpiration Other duties as assignedDo the best work of your life!URS is a leading provider of engineering, construction and technical services for public agencies and private sector companies around the world.
