Port Metro Vancouver (“PMV”) is Canada’s largest and most diversified port, stretching along 600 kilometres of shoreline and waterways and bordering on 16 municipalities.  PMV leads the efficient and reliable movement of cargo and passengers, annually trading $75 billion in goods with more than 160 trading economies.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a communications professional to play a key role on the Container Capacity Improvement Program (CCI) Project Team to provide advice and guidance on PMV’s communications interface with the CCIP Project team on all of the CCIP component projects.  This will include providing guidance on strategic communications, public consultation, community engagement, issues management, government affairs and issues tracking as they relate specifically to the CCIP projects.  In particular, you will:

·         Act as day-to-day liaison between the CCIP Project Team and PMV, providing regular progress updates and communicating emerging issues.

·         Recommend, plan, develop and lead the implementation of communications and consultation activities and initiatives.

·         Write and develop communications and consultation materials.

·         Coordinate the graphic design of communications and consultation materials.

·         Determine project community engagement strategy and implementation, and ensure alignment with ongoing PMV community engagement activities and initiatives.

·         Manage project related community relations and issues.

·         Participate at stakeholder meetings and open houses including facilitation.


As the ideal candidate, you have a Bachelor’s degree in communications or another applicable degree, supplemented by a minimum of 4 years experience developing communication strategies around capital infrastructure projects
.  You have exceptional research, writing and analytical skills along with the ability to see the big picture and identify issues.
