Communications Specialist – CEO’s Office recruitment
The team is led by the Global Head of IB Marketing. Primary team responsibilities include:
- Creation, implementation and delivery of a comprehensive and strategic CEO communications plan
- Communications include key external and internal speaking engagements, town hall meetings, employee floor walks, employee emails, video presentations, briefings for select business sessions, surveys evaluating impact, etc.
- Establishing and refining the co-CEOs’ strategic messages and writing communications that drive and incorporate the messages in support of business priorities
- Ensuring the flow of information and messaging throughout the organization
- Managing the co-CEOs’ profiles internally and externally
- Developing the co-CEOs’ presentation styles as needed
- Assisting in the review and assessment of UBS Group messages that involve the Investment Bank
- Continuing to strengthen and improve CEO communications
Job Description
The Communications Specialist is a key member of the CEO Communications team and is actively involved in all aspects of CEO communications, from researching and writing materials to ensuring effective delivery and managing logistical processes. This role is integral to the success of the function and is an exciting, roll-up-your-sleeves opportunity with significant potential for a candidate who is smart, engaged, motivated and enthusiastic.
- Working together with your colleagues on a small team to research and write communications materials. These will span the day-to-day (announcements, event invitations), corporate announcements (quarterly results), employee activities (town hall meetings, video scripts), and high visibility external events (Investor Day, industry conferences), among others
- Preparing event briefings for the co-CEOs, in conjunction with your line manager.
- Working closely with the co-CEOs’ office to stay informed of changes to their calendars and, together with line manager, planning accordingly for required communications in order to ensure that the communications support process is seamless
- Proactive management of the CEO Communications calendar and the CEO web site, ensuring the timely updating of content including changes to IB organizational charts
- Working on long-term communications projects sponsored by or involving the IB CEOs
- Liaising with IB business areas, logistics functions, the other UBS businesses and Corporate Center (Investor Relations, Media Relations) on key communications
- Reviewing public competitor communications
- Actively participating in the planning and organization of major CEO events, including town hall meetings and senior management conferences. Work here may include responsibilities beyond core communications duties (e.g., event planning, administrative support), but will be integral to the successful execution of events
Requirements
- Communications experience (preferably at an investment bank) and a strong track-record
- The ability to communicate effectively, interact with senior managers and exert influence in the discussion of relatively complex subject matter
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills
- The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure and tight timelines
- Sound knowledge of the structure and business model of the Investment Bank and UBS
- A proactive, collaborative style with an interest in building and maintaining relationships and networks
- Word and PowerPoint experience
- Previous experience with web publishing and/or strong willingness to learn in order to take responsibility for updating basic web site content, e.g., changes to organizational charts
- Comfort working with a remote line manager (US based)
