We currently have an opening for a Communications Specialist, Global Specialty, in our New York Office.
Role purpose:
Communications is a core part of the Market Management Communication function at the centre of Allianz Global Corporate Specialty’s Target Operating Model (TOM), and is responsible for protecting and promoting AGCS´s brand and reputation, as well as supporting and promoting effective and timely communications to and from colleagues, clients, brokers and other stakeholders.
The primary role of Communications is support the AGCS global and local strategy with the planning and delivery of effective internal and external communications (within AGCS and within the Group) in close liaison with the overall MMC function, Global Communications team, other functions (e.g. HR, Operations etc) and the local business. Communications at AGCS includes marketing communications, media relations, internal and change communications.
The Global Specialty Communications Specialist position is a generalist Marketing Communications role with a specific focus and responsibility on external communications such as marketing activities for the Global Specialty Lines of business (Aviation, Energy and Marine), working in close coordination with the Director of Marketing Communications AGCS Americas and Global Specialty to whom this role reports directly. In addition, the role will include responsibility for or participation in a number of ad hoc marketing and communications projects from time to time. The role also includes participation in activities (both scheduled deliverables and ad hoc) with the Global Communications team
Key Responsibilities Duties:
1. Work with Director of Marketing Communications AGCS Americas and Global Specialty to develop external communications and support global marketing for Specialty lines of business to include:
§ Planning and implementation of marketing communications activities to support the global business strategy, including where appropriate, annual marketing plans for Lines of Business and specific initiatives (e.g. product launches, geographic expansion, etc.)
§ Websites (primary responsibility for the AGCS - Global Specialty web pages)
§ Develops and promotes AGCS - Global Specialty products and brand across regions
§ Print sales/marketing materials including brochures, presentations etc.
§ Events hospitality: coordinating global events program (including corporate gifts to help complement the events program)
§ Responsible for planning and delivering overall corporate events calendar for both internal an external audiences
§ Local activation of global sponsoring initiatives if relevant and appropriate
§ Global Risk Dialogue – contributing to production of the AGCS client magazine (led by Global communications), and coordinating local distribution
§ Product support and liaison with outside suppliers, agencies and AGCS departments on marketing and communications projects (e.g. product launches, marketing promotional planning and implementation etc)
§ Writing and editing copy for promotional/informational materials
§ Support Director of Marketing Communications AGCS Americas and Global Specialty with marketing analysis and research, including market research and customer insight/analysis, and developing research concepts where necessary to support business development (e.g. market studies, external reports etc)
Support Director of Marketing Communications AGCS Americas and Global Specialty with media relations activity, including research, media analysis, briefings (and working on occasion with Global Communications colleagues on media related projects.)
2. Work with Director of Marketing Communications AGCS Americas and Global Specialty to support internal communications for the Global Specialty lines of business including coordinating and delivering the following activities, individually or in coordination with other team members and colleagues locally and globally as needed to:
§ Create annual activity plan in conjunction with CUO Global Specialty and management
§ News/announcements
§ Management leadership communications; management of AGCS / Specialty brand communications internally
§ Intranet (in close liaison with Global Communications)
§ Events (town halls, board member round tables, staff presentations etc)
§ CUO Updates (or local equivalents)
§ Copywriting and drafting communications
§ BluePrint Magazine – contributing to the AGCS staff magazine
§ Briefing notes and project communications (e.g. local branch expansion program)
§ Product
§ Staff liaison and feedback (2-way communications)
§ Change communications
3. Travel Global Liaison:
§ Occasional travel will be required to offices within the Regional Unit; and rarely to other locations (e.g.
Regular liaison and close working relationships will be needed with AGCS Global Communications team in other locations
