RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ongoing and timely responsibilities of the Northland Coalition and Ray County Prevention Specialist includes: 

    Assisting the coalitions with necessary administrative duties as needed:
    Meeting reminders (mailing, emails and reminder calls) to volunteer prior to monthly meetings,committee meetings and events.
        Maintain social networking sites/venues and coalition websites
        Help to organize/implement all Coalition events and programs
        Actively recruits members and develops strategies for volunteer maintenance
        Coordinate and assist with coalition fundraising programs/projects
        Preparation of agendas and/or taking minutes when needed
        Maintains/updates Coalition notebooks, display boards and rosters
        Provides resource table/banners, etc. at coalition events as well as at area community   programs, fairs, and events

Provides administrative assistance to the Manager of Prevention to ensure success of TCMHS prevention programs and assists the Youth Prevention Specialist and other Prevention Specialists with programs as need (as determined by the Manager of Prevention Services).

Assists Manager of Prevention with ADA contract deliverables to include coordinating and conducting the annual Tobacco Retailer Education visits and assisting with Synar tobacco checks.

Assists with Coalitions and agency program development using evidence-based strategies, and following the CSAP recommended strategies and Principles of Effectiveness.

Maintains adequate stock of ATOD and other “risky behaviors” resources.

Helps with ADA, grant programs, or agency special projects when needed, as well as the Coalitions programs (i.e. assessments, Know It 2 Win It, OSSS, Girl Power, ½ Day Prevention Conference and Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast, Those Who Host /Safe Prom/Graduation and Parent Up social marketing campaigns.

Serves as Tri-County’s MHS, “Ambassador of Goodwill” within the community.

Assists the Coalitions with submitting necessary state/federal reports, or other funding reporting mandates (i.e. ADA mini-grant midyear and final reports).

Assists Manager of Prevention Services with program evaluation and details needed to secure grants.

Serves as primary contact for the Northland and Ray County Coalitions/C-2000 teams and program coordinator for coalition grants, providing reports and data entry for these grants.

Helps secure local resources for the coalitions and agency prevention programs/activities, under the direction of the Manager of Prevention Services.

Exemplify prevention professional ethics to include role modeling healthy choices (i.e. non-smoker, responsible alcohol consumption and no use of illegal drugs).
