Compensation is the department that sets the parameters for each major pay element at Google: salaries, bonuses and stock awards. The team ensures that Google pay, in total, meets our goal of being highly competitive with other companies. The role: Compensation Program Manager
This role will help lead Google's major compensation programs, which are aimed at attracting and retaining the world's top talent. You will be a key member of Google's compensation programs team, ensuring the success of these programs and striving for continuous improvement. You must have the ability to juggle multiple tasks, handle sensitive information, make sound business decisions, manage details, and deliver results on a company-wide scale.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with HR business partners to drive and ensure the success of Google's compensation planning programs (e.g., merit increases, annual bonuses).
- Lead a team of analysts to drive and ensure the success of compensation programs and strive for continuous improvement.
- Play a governance role in the creation, negotiation, and review of compensation programs business rules.
- Work independently, prioritize multiple stakeholders and tasks, and manage work time efficiently.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and planning to continuously improve our compensation programs and processes
Requirements:
- BA or BS degree in economics, business administration or another field that uses quantitative analysis or equivalent experience (advanced degree preferred).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (familiarity with statistical packages and SQL a plus). Deep interest in analyzing data and the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound decision-making.
- Solutions and client service-oriented, with an emphasis on creativity and relationships
- Proven leadership skills and understanding of team dynamics.
- Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with competing demands.
- Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
