Compensation Reporting/MI

The Personnel Expense function is responsible for booking, control, reporting and financial planning around all aspects of the firm’s compensation and benefits costs.  This ranges from monthly financial control and cost reporting to CEO-level decision support on the trends and affordability of compensation costs. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Drive the modelling of compensation adequacy/affordability through the end-of-year bonus round, using existing and newly developed tools as appropriate, and providing commentary and analysis

Work closely with Group MI, HR and the Strategy teams on the sourcing from external providers of up-to-date benchmark data on business performance in the context of the compensation process, and develop high-quality analytics to present the findings

Development of senior management reporting and analytics for Personnel Expense:

Manage processes for delivery of budget, forecast and ad hoc analysis as it relates to personnel expenses

Provide informed opinion on the story behind the numbers, and effectively deploy external benchmarking data to provide colour where appropriate

Build relationships with a variety of groups within the Finance function and also with HR Compensation and MI teams.

Become comfortable and familiar with the subject matter, and able to articulate key trends and issues to senior managers when demanded.

 

Requirements:

 

Experience in a Compensation, Payroll Finance, Cost Reporting or similar function

Strong interpersonal skills, including an ability to provide articulate analysis and interpret data before communicating effectively to a senior audience

Knowledge of financial accounting standards in bank compensation an advantage

Advanced Excel skills

Advanced PowerPoint

Hyperion Essbase is desired
