We currently have a career opportunity for a Compensation Specialist at our Harbor Drive facility in San Diego, California.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:   

Work on a team of two Compensation professionals to develop and administer global Compensation programs. Evaluate jobs based on the Hay Point Factor analysis method. Complete salary surveys and the related analysis, develop recommendations for merit increase budgets, and changes to salary structures. Create tools needed to administer pay plans in the US and international locations.  Produce special reports and complete compensation related projects. Assist with analysis to support pay decisions.  Administer incentive programs. Prepare pay data for international assignments. Respond to internal and external inquiries and request for HRIS data.  Participate in 6 Sigma and other process improvement initiatives. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Business Administration, Accounting, or a closely related degree.  Beyond the degree, at least 5 years total experience in Human Resources, including a minimum of 2 years full-time Compensation experience. Requires excellent HRIS knowledge/skills, the ability to develop ad hoc reports and to analyze the data.  Must have excellent Excel skills and strong PowerPoint abilities. Prior experience with survey input and analysis is required. Demonstrated experience developing substantial written communication is needed.  Polished presentation skills are necessary. Experience using the Hay job evaluation method is strongly preferred. Compensation Certification and/or PHR Certification are a plus.  Experience in job evaluation required.

Must be flexible and comfortable working in an environment that has multiple conflicting priorities, and daily interface with employees/managers at all levels.  Must have strong computer, organizational skills together with demonstrated ability to produce quality, accurate, and timely work.  Must maintain a strong customer focus and effective on-going customer relationships. 

Local candidates will be given strong preference.
