The Competition team has earned its enviable reputation based on an acknowledged technical excellence, an ability to provide commercial and practical advice and an in-depth understanding of markets and regulatory regimes. The team advises on the entire range of UK and EU competition law matters, mergers, state aid and procurement. It handles dawn raids, cartel, abuse of dominance and market investigations and merger control clearances before both the Office of Fair Trading and Competition Commission in the UK and the European Commission inBrussels. It has a recognised reputation for competition litigation and mediation and represents client before the Competition Appeal Tribunal, the General Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union and national courts in England Wales.

THE ROLE

This role requires a solid foundation and strong experience in competition law. The successful candidate will be an active member of the team and will be expected to have strong technical experience gained in a leading competition practice in London or Brussels, with at least one full year post qualification experience (or equivalent). The candidate must also have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop client relationships and contribute to the development of a team that has an impressive breadth of clients. Some experience in competition litigation would be helpful (but not essential).

All candidates will be expected to demonstrate a track record of strong performance.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will have:

* Excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree
* Experience of competition law gained within a strong, well recognised team and
* Clear understanding of the operation and structure of a Top 15 law firm
* Ability to achieve continuous improvement
* Strong interpersonal and business development skills
