Chevron's Energy Technology Company is accepting online applications for the position of Completion Engineer-Reliability RAM Analysis to be located in Houston, Texas.

Overview:

Completion Engineers within ETC will work on project teams within OPCO's and Asset teams. They may be required to travel to OPCO locations to perform studies with project teams in support of field development. Travel on occasion may be for extended periods of up to a month or more, average travel time for team members is 15-20% but could be as high 30-35% for some depending on the type of project.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for Completion Engineering Reliability, Availability, Maintainability Analysis (RAM) support to business units globally
  • Conduct RAM analyses for projects, which forecast field and well interventions and availability
  • Knowledge/Experience in building models and interpreting results from RAM simulation software including (but not limited to) Blocksim, Titan, and specialized Crystal Ball tools
  • Project management of RAM studies - scoping, simulation, analyzing results, preparing technical memos, communicating effectively with project teams and working on multifunctional teams
  • Responsible for completion hardware reliability analysis support to business units globally
  • Conducts life data analysis for completion hardware in support of RAM analysis and specific projects
  • Works with industry reliability databases and business units gather applicable data for reliability assessment
  • Understands the failure modes mechanisms of completion hardware wells as a system
  • Develops products/services internally or through leveraged agreements as appropriate
  • Facilitate the improvement of current practices in completion reliability analysis and RAM simulation
  • Development of new technology - tools, methods, and best practices in completion reliability RAM analysis
  • Participates in HES efforts and accountable for achieving Team HES goals
  • PMP generation and accountability
  • Actively involved in career development plan
  • Reinforces Chevron Way culture and behavior

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of Completion Engineering experience
  • Working to advanced knowledge with RAM simulation software including (but not limited to) Blocksim, Titan, and specialized Crystal Ball tools.
  • Innovative with strong analytical and problem solving skills. Able to conduct life data analysis for completion hardware in support of RAM analysis. Familiar with industry reliability databases.
  • Strong, established network with other completion engineers, both internal and external to CVX able to facilitate the improvement of current practices in completion reliability analysis and RAM simulation
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others to achieve Company/SBU goals. Strong business and customer focus. Actively shares Best Practices and lessons learned.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of completion hardware, well operations, statistics and simulation beneficial.
  • Experience on Major Capital Projects a plus.
