Chevron's Energy Technology Company (ETC) is accepting online applications for the position of Completions Engineer - Sand Face Completions to be located in Houston, Texas.
Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Provides technical support to Chevron operating companies worldwide in sand face completions with particular focus on sand control/sand managememt, perforating, well performance.
Participates as technical resource on project planning, design, execution and sub-surface peer reviews and peer assists.
Develops, evaluates and deploys new technology, provide consultation and/or recommend procedures to Chevron Opcos for sand face completions.
Provides on-site support for completion execution, stimulation, and workover procedures.
Builds technical capabilities by representing Chevron at industry technical meetings, joint industry project meetings, and review of current technical literature.
Interacts with Chevron operating companies to assist in aligning ETC's technology portfolio with business issues, and to communicate technical capabilities.
Teaches in selected schools / seminars / courses concerning well completion and stimulation technology related topics.
Provides mentoring to personnel from Chevron ETC, Opco's (domestic and international SBUs), and affiliates.
Supports company of choice strategy by demonstrating Chevron's technological capability to visitors and representing Chevron at industry technical meetings.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering
Knowledge and experience in Sand Control or Sand Management systems. Must be able to plan, design, and execute various stages of sand control applications (primarily OHGP, ESS, and SAS, but CHGP and CHFP a plus) . This includes sand face equipment design and selection (screens, other hardware and service tools), QA/QC of downhole equipment, Drill-in, completion and stimulation fluids, Open hole and Cased hole displacement/clean-up and pumping equipment. Deepwater/HTHP well completion applications and rock mechanics knowledge a strong plus. Must be able to evaluate SC method performance, reliability, and reservoir inflow performance as it is impacted by the sand control installation.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with Chevron OPCO partners to evaluate/recommend optimum well completion alternatives and deploy same to achieve asset economic goals and well completion metrics (i.e, Strong business and customer focus). Provides training and development by teaching in the Drilling Training Alliance and mentoring inexperienced engineers. Strong, established network with other completion engineers, both internal and external to CVX, and service provider personnel a strong plus.
Ability to lead project teams during various phases of CPDEP to evaluate and deploy appropriate sand control or sand management applications and new technology. Provide guidance and direction to service providers for QA/QC of hardware and operational execution to achieve well objectives.
Ability to provide innovative solutions for sand control/sand management by developing and deploying new technologies. Builds technical capabilities by representing Chevron at industry technical meetings, joint industry project meetings, and workshops.
