Completions Technologist Job in Calgary, Alberta Canada
Description:
Design Group is looking for a Completions Technologist for our client, a major North American oil gas producer. This is a fulltime position based downtown Calgary. The ideal candidate will be a passionate, self motivated technologist with 5 or more years experience as a Completions Technologist with an oil gas producer.
Reporting to the Manager Completions, the Completions Technologist is responsible for both completions engineering and operations duties for assigned activities within the Western Canadian production operations.
Responsibilities:
· Provide some mentorship to the other techs/engineers.
· Assist engineers with the design and develop in-house completion programs and cost estimates.
· Assist with the evaluation and recommendation of advanced technological developments.
· Travel to wellsite locations as required familiarize with completions operations, practices and critical interfaces.
· In an emergency-response situation, the Completions Technologist is to immediately take steps to ensure the safety of personnel and then contact the Completions Manager to inform him of the situation.
· Within the boundaries of the designated area, the Completions Technologist is responsible for ensuring that environmentally responsible and safe operating practices are carried out in accordance with Company and government policies.
· Responsible for operations and technical support to the Wellsite Supervisor. Will provide this support primarily from the office, but also from in the field when required.
Requirements:
· Completion of a suitable/related technical diploma.
· A minimum of 5 to 10 years of completions experience.
· Sound working knowledge of field operations in all areas from shallow, sweet, low pressure wells to deep, high pressure, sour oil and gas wells these could be vertical, directional to horizontal.
· Good inter-personnel skill to work with office and field staff.
· Montney horizontal experience would be an asset.
