Compliance Adviser / Senior Compliance Advisor recruitment

Job Description

* Promote, lead and manage the culture and practice of compliance with the letter and spirit of legal and regulatory requirements and ethical standards in the conduct of business and to assist the Head of Regulatory Compliance in HK in overseeing the country compliance with the above requirements and standards
* Assist Head of Regulatory Compliance and Management to ensure that the Bank and its subsidiaries operate in accordance with (a) all regulatory and legal requirements and (b) all Group standards of conduct, so as to protect and enhance the reputation of the Bank and its subsidiaries in Hong Kong with its regulators and avoid significant financial loss
* Advise the functional units on all compliance issues arising from their operations

Key Roles Responsibilities

* Provide compliance support to management to ensure that they establish appropriate internal control systems for meeting legal and regulatory obligations and high standards of business conduct, in accordance with the Group compliance standards and local regulatory and legal requirements
* Disseminate new or amended laws and regulations to designated functional units
* Assist designated functional units to establish appropriate procedures, guidelines and manuals for their operations with due regard to all applicable Group requirements and regulatory requirements
* Provide advisory services to designated functional units on compliance related issues
* Liaise and strengthen the relationship with different stakeholders within the Bank and the regulators
* Coordinate regulatory examinations in accordance with Group's guidelines
* Liaise with the regulators and handle ad hoc requests raised from time to time
* Prepare regular management reports for Group Compliance and Country Senior Management

Qualifications Skills

* Qualified professional with relevant working experiences in compliance discipline and banking field
* Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to banks
* Strong analytical skills
* Effective communication (written and spoken) skills
* Good judgment enabling the provision of sound advice in difficult areas of compliance
* Independence and robustness
* Good interpersonal skills and a team player
* Personal authority, integrity and ethics
