Overview
Lead the advisory relationship with the Fixed Income business providing analysis and advice to the business, in particular with respect to the regulatory requirements for clearing, and EMIR. The candidate will join a dynamic team of compliance professionals responsible for providing advisory support and general Compliance oversight to the fixed income business.
The Compliance and Public Affairs Group works closely with other internal and external stakeholders, serving as a valuable partner ensuring an ability to comply with, influence and respond to increasingly complex international regulation, whilst respecting regional requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing regulatory advice to the Fixed Income business.
- Manage overall compliance program related to the clearing regulatory requirements as applicable to this business.
- In the context of a Recognised Clearing House, to analyse in the context of Fixed Income, various existing or potential obligations of LCH across differing regulatory environments, drafting regulatory applications where necessary for UK or other jurisdictions.
- Monitor, analyse, and interpreting new rules and regulations issued by the regulators, and participate in industry initiatives relating to new regulations and other issues.
- Identify and address any gaps between existing processes and new regulatory requirements.
- Coordinating with other areas of the firm to ensure the appropriate controls, policies and procedures are in place for current and new businesses;
- Draft Compliance policies and procedures as necessary to keep up to date with changing internal and external rules and regulations.
- Conduct Compliance training with respect to new and existing regulations and firm policies.
- Assist in preparing responses to regulatory inquiries from the CCP's international regulators
- Coordinate with colleagues in Compliance and other groups on initiatives including surveillance, testing, and audits.
- Where relevant, representing LCH in strategic external forums on regulatory issues.
Required skills and experience
- Fixed Income regulatory compliance experience.
- Knowledge of European rules and regulations (current and forthcoming) relating to Fixed Income products and Central Counterparty Clearing.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients effectively at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment and strategic thinking skills.
