Compliance Advisory Officer recruitment
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Advisory Associate to work for a top tier asset management.
You will be responsible for providing qualitative compliance advice to the various business divisions in respect of activities, products and services within the EMEA region. Changes in, and new regulation continues to be a key focus for Compliance and the new position is crucial to the delivery of the Compliance objectives and priorities for 2012 and beyond. You will be involved in analysis, communication and implementation of regulation, working with others in Compliance Legal and the business.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with the head of the team and colleagues within Compliance and Legal to co-ordinate Compliance activities relating to regulatory developments inEurope, including initiatives arising from European central supervisory bodies and national regulators.
- Providing effective and proactive support to regulatory policy agenda co-ordinating with the EMEA Government Relations and Public Policy team, including analysis of emerging and new regulation, input to submissions made to European supervisory bodies, trade associations and other stakeholders.
- Engagement with business areas and support functions to implement regulatory change to ensure the firm continues to fulfill its regulatory obligations.
- Providing input to regular reporting and communication on regulatory developments to senior management and corporate and/or fund boards and broader business.
- Providing input on regulatory developments in client presentations.
- Providing input to and actively participate in team and departmental briefings.
- Co-ordinating meetings of internal committees and other stakeholder groups, as required.
- Managing internal records of regulatory papers and other material.
- Participating in other compliance projects and initiatives.
- Where required, reviewing client communications and/or financial promotions (as required) including brochures, factsheets, presentations etc.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience within financial services, ideally Asset Management and within Compliance or other control function and previous exposure to regulatory developments work and/or FSA and EU regulations is highly desirable.
- High standard of accuracy and excellent attention to detail; ability to prioritise workloads and adhere to deadlines and excellent organisational skills are advantageous.
- Ability to collaborate across teams/functions and work autonomously on projects/initiatives is beneficial.
