Compliance Analyst – Hedge Funds recruitment
Job Responsibilities
Purpose of the role
The position will provide support to the Asia Pacific COO. Ensure daily work in accordance with regulations set out by the Hong Kong Securities Futures Commission (SFC) and other applicable jurisdictions within the Region. Daily interactions are primarily with the Head of Trading, all traders and trading operations personnel.
Key accountabilities
• Conducts company’s trading oversight programme in the Region
• Obtains and filters relevant data from in-house trading systems and data repositories for daily compliance monitoring analyses and exceptions reporting
• Reviews and investigates trading exceptions and issues on a daily basis (e.g. best execution, timely execution, timely and fair allocation)
• Review Legal documentation and identify any deviations or amendments to be made
• Provides analyses and resolution relating to trading incidents
• Maintains and updates a database to record monitoring issues and exceptions and to assist with management reporting
• Supports COO on the design, development and implementation of trading oversight and surveillance processes
• Assist with ad hoc Legal Compliance projects.
Job Requirements
• Degree-level educated, with a keen interest in financial markets
• Good experience working in hedge funds industry
• Analytical skills, problem-solving ability and attention to detail essential
• Strong systems/PC skills to include basic programming skills and use of data extraction/analysis tools (e.g. Excel, Access)
• Investigative and questioning nature
• Ability to work independently
• Strong self-motivation, organisation, prioritisation, time management, used to adapting to unforeseen changes
• Excellent inter-personal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with various levels of management
• Fluency in oral and written English essential
Desirable skills
• Qualified accountant with hedge funds compliance experince is a must
• Work experience in audit, investigations or market surveillance
