Compliance Associate recruitment
Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment management companies and a recognized employer of choice, seeks a compliance associate to collect and analyze data for the compliance testing and analysis functions for defined contribution compliance clients. You will communicate with external and internal clients at the appropriate levels to perform compliance related tasks. You will also develop and maintain technical regulatory knowledge required to perform the above functions
Your primary duties and responsibilities:
- Collects data from internal and external sources. Analyzes and loads data into testing software.
- Identifies data issues. Works to resolve less complex data issues with internal stakeholders. Elevates more complex data issues to manager for resolution.
- Executes project plans to support required compliance testing services within established timeframes.
- Identifies and reports the status and details of standard and special compliance services for assigned clients.
- Develops technology and technical regulatory skills and knowledge related to the performance of compliance testing and analysis functions.
- Assists in conference calls, client meetings, and internal meetings as necessary. Coordinates client communications related to rolling forward previous year data to be used for current year compliance testing.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum two years related work experience a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly to limited audiences on defined contribution compliance issues.
- Excellent data analysis and technology skills.
- Ability to learn and develop the technical compliance knowledge base necessary to provide compliance consulting service.
- Ability to assess problem situations and appropriately prioritize tasks.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to deliver accurate solutions for general compliance issues.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and process multiple issues simultaneously.
- Knowledge/experience with:
- ADP testing (IRC section 401(k))
- ACP testing (IRC section 401(m))
- Elective Deferral limit (IRC section 402(g))
- Annual Additions limit (IRC section 415(c)(1)),
- Highly Compensated Employee determination (IRC 414(q))
- Annual Compensation limit (IRC section 401(a)(17))
- General discrimination (IRC section 401(a)(4))
- Coverage testing (IRC section 410(b))
- Additional elements as required by the regulatory environment and CTA service requirements a plus.
- Knowledge of recordkeeping database and compliance/nondiscrimination testing tools a plus.
