COMPLIANCE, AVP / VP – DERIVATIVES recruitment

Our client is a global financial institution with Regional Asia Pacific Office in Hong Kong. They offer a wide range of financial services and investment management products to institutional investors and corporations worldwide. They are currently seeking for a high caliber professional to join them.

Primarily responsible for helping to oversee various aspects of compliance related activities and projects in relation to derivatives products. To assess the eligibility of certain derivative types for the portfolios being managed. Interpreting the terms of the applicable jurisdiction's rules, regulations and requirements, prospectus requirements, client's requirement. Co-ordinate to ensure proper approval from client and regulator has been obtained. Flush out investment limits, rules and calculations on derivatives under a particular platform. Identifying and referring to publicly available circulars or guidelines issued by applicable regulators or clients. Be able to interpret and understand in detail the applicable and relevant rules for monitoring of derivatives. Liaise with the Front Office to ensure they understand the rules and limits and calculations with respect to derivatives. Consult the Front Office in order to design the necessary controls and ensure the controls are in place. Perform derivatives compliance monitoring. Can identify and articulate any necessary derivatives related reporting requirements in all Asian and overseas jurisdictions. Keeps abreast of the regulatory development. Make recommendations for improvement of compliance procedures and policies in relation to derivatives. Participate in other compliance projects as necessary.

To qualify for the position, you should be a University graduate in Finance, Legal or related disciplines with around 8 to 10 years of Compliance or relevant experience. Experience with Bloomberg Trading Systems and or Findur. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to demonstrate a high degree of initiative and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines. Some travelling required.
